Blue Met is back!

More on books:

By Julien Sher: During the American Civil War, Canada was called the North Star....a haven for 30,000 escaped slaves on the Underground Railroad. But our next guest says that's just one side of the story. There's a darker side. One that includes a police chief who collaborated with bank robbers. A nest of spies. And a bank owner who helped Confederates launder money. And there's a common thread: our city of Montreal. Joining us now is award-winning journalist and author Julian Sher. His new book is out now; it's called The North Star: Canada and the Civil War Plots Against Lincoln.

The book:

Do you love chickens? If so, this is for you:

Under the Henfluence: Inside the World of Backyard Chickens and the People Who Love Them by Tove Danovich.

An immersive blend of chicken-keeping memoir and culture reporting by a journalist who accidentally became obsessed with her flock.
