Jennifer Laoun-Rubenstein (BFA ’07, Concordia University) honours traditional creative practices
through painting, drawing, fibre arts, and creative writing.

Undulating skin folds, threads, and waterlines recur in her work; often born of streams of consciousness
informed by currents of identity, nostalgia, limerence, and erotica. Her work has been shown in exhibitions
and salons in Montreal and Tokyo.

Since 2010, Jennifer has directed the Support to Arts and Culture program at Georges Laoun Opticien,
where she has presented the work of more than 300 artists of all disciplines.

She is a professional member of the Regroupement des artistes en arts visuels du Québec and is a board
member of the Women's Art Society of Montreal and of WECAN, a  nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote the professional and creative development of afrodescendant artists and entrepreneurs.

She was also the third place winner in WASM's 126th annual Juried art show.
